Christmas 2008

Christmas was a hit here in the Stanford household. I woke up this morning *stuck* in my bedroom. Apparently Mommy and Daddy didn't trust me not to go downstairs in the middle of the night and open my presents early.

When I came downstairs, I immediately spied my stocking and dug in...the rest is history.

Mommy made a really great breakfast and then I played with my toys the rest of the day.

Winter Wonderland

We woke up to an unusual sight this morning. I guess God felt bad that I couldn't have snow this year and sent a little down to us.

Calvin isn't awake yet, but we're hoping to take him out to play when he wakes up.

Diaperless?

Soon. Calvin picked out his new underwear today. We're going to start phase 2 of potty-training tomorrow. We tried them on when we got home from the store...and this is what we found.

So, Mommy finally got her camera to work. She isn't sure HOW she got it to work....it was a miracle...and a good thing too, because I'm way too cute not to be documented.

It has been raining a lot down here the past few days, so Mommy and I haven't been able to go to the park. It looks like it will clear up for the weekend though, so maybe I can convince her to take me then.

My birthday is coming up in a month! Mommy and Daddy are going to have a birthday party for me at my favorite park! I get to have all kinds of trucks and cars at my birthday, and a big playground as well! It's going to be a great time. I can't wait to show all my friends my cars.

The title of the blog should be changed to the "Wonderful World of Diaperless Calvin"

Because that is where he's headed! Calvin decided to tell us yesterday when he was ready to go #2(I don't want to make this TOO gruesome)....we watched him carefully today, and when he told us again, it was straight on the potty. He sat for awhile, and then did his business.

I think he was more excited about the M&M's that he got afterwards. I'm going to try a positive rewards program and see how it works out. Since he absolutely adores M&Ms, I think it will go pretty well. Although he wasn't too pleased about just getting two. :)

I decided not to take pictures...although I really, really, really considered it.

When he is finished potty training (which may be awhile) we've decided to throw him a potty party!

I'm really sorry for the delay

Daddy, Mommy and I have been REALLY busy lately. It seems like everyone wants a piece of our attention.

We're getting ready for Grandpa and Omi Jean to come down. Mommy got the carpets cleaned last week so I'm being really careful about not spilling anything. I'm also learning to put my toys away so that Mommy and Daddy don't trip on them when it's dark in my room. Mommy also said that I'm going to be a big boy soon, so I get to sleep in a brand new bed! Daddy told me that if I get the privilege of sleeping in a big boy bed, I also have to keep my room clean. Mommy and Daddy make it a game though. We put on music and dance while we put toys away. I have to admit, it is pretty fun!

Mommy and Daddy took me to get my haircut this weekend. The lady cut it REALLY short. I like it though. It should be good for summer. Too bad Farmer [Grandpa]Dave doesn't live closer.

I'm really proud of my Daddy. He learned to use the computer program that he needs to write his paper. He said that it's easy, so it shouldn't take him much time at all. Mommy said we still need to keep telling him that he's brilliant though, so he'll stay motivated. :)

Well, I better get my pictures posted or else I won't have time to go to the park before Daddy gets home for lunch! Hope those ducks are hungry today!

Sorry it has been so long since I've updated. Mommy and Daddy have been really busy assembling all my toys that I got for Christmas. I really need to get a bigger room. Maybe I can keep some of them in Mommy and Daddy's room. I really got tons and tons of stuff...and there is more when my wagon gets here! I think mommy is a little stressed out.

Anyway. Mommy, Daddy and I took a trip down to Toys 'R' Us yesterday. I love that place. We looked for a good hour for just the right toy to spend my gift card on. We looked a little people, airplanes and stuffed animals.....and finally found the perfect toy. A vacuum cleaner! When I push it, little balls bounce around. I take it everywhere now.
